“Lake Effect” was a blend I had in my mind forever. I wanted to capture the foggy, misty magic and cool, uplifting sensation that the water so effortlessly brings. I’ve been collaborating with @squareonesoapworks for the last few years now, and they continuously go above and beyond to meet my obnoxiously large orders and last min requests. I come up with crazy essential oil blends and they make the magic happen. Most times things smell exactly as I envisioned and other times better than I could imagine. But occasionally one will get coined the “devil soap” and batch by batch we will tweak it to perfection. “Lake Effect” was this soap! Haha! Finally released at the end very of fall, it lasted two shows before it sold out. People loved it! But the hard part was replicating it again, after multiple experiments of trial and error. Well, it’s finally back and @showofhandschicago gets first dibs next week. • • Do you have your Friday Night Preview yet? Shovel + Spade has grown from, salvaged rubbish, to collecting and gathering to rework and repurpose. My craft is constantly changing, I am creating a general store of items for both personal and home use. Every item is unique and completely one of a kind. If I am not reusing my own items or given production waste, I am buying from resale thrift stores, rummage and fleas or supporting local businesses. All raw fibers are locally & ethically sourced and used to create sustainable goods. Some items are available for custom order, others are only available in limited quantities.
